The PJ effort was a meld of style and character from the LotR s.
In general, it follows the gist of the JRR Tolkien ' Hobbit ' . 
Who should see it ?

Those w/ cast iron bums
                 large bladders
                  a high tolerance for sword fights
                  a high tolerance for chase scenes
                   a high tolerance

There are no negatives here. I felt as though I were watching someone's home movies somehow w/ the 3D effect. I took my glasses off for parts ( vertigo ). 
My advice, watch at home where beer and a washroom are handy.

Best parts   1) Hobbiton scenes
                    2) the elves fight off the orcs

Criticism would be that Thrandeuil ( Legolas's father ) is not a High elf. I'm pretty sure his group never left middle Earth. Meaning these elves have never seen the Undying Land. Thrandeuil is more like a forest elf.

Wb is covered in snow. We got cold and snow. Sort of ' hello ' to winter, encore. I tell people as difficult as driving is in the snow at least ' the snow doesn't move '. In many places, winter rain is a guarantee of flooding. And of course , there is always the spring melt which can bring floods.
