We have a Tracfone or a ' pay as you go ' cell phone. In LV, we bought the phone and $ 20 air time card. You may recall that part of the deal w/ this phone was double air time w/ every purchase. thus 60 min became 120 minutes. The minutes go fast b/c Tracfone charges for everything. BUT it is so inexpensive. As well, the expiry went from 30 days to 90 days as an introduction.
The time came to make a decision about how the rest of the year should go.
We used the Tracfone in LV, St Pte Bch and now Syracuse. Expiry was coming up to Apr 20. Well we decided that we'd go for the 1 year card and 400 minutes. On line they offered an additional 200 minutes if you buy the yr card before 3/31.
So, for 40 minutes, I tried to buy the card on line. different credit cards, combinations of addresses and countries. We can switch our credit card home address between Fla and Canada to suit where we are.
No dice.
So, as a last resort we went to a CVS drug store in 'Cuse and of course, giving up on the bonus. Well, bought the card and punched in the code - waited - " you also qualify for bonus minutes ". Yep, after all that, we still got the bonus minutes. Crikey, what a waste of time.
how many times did I see " your application has failed , try again "
It snowed overnight, we brushed off the car. However, we drove in sunshine and cold but very good travel conditions in terms of the surface and traffic. Luckily, we crossed the border at 12:30 PM and waited for four cars and then bingo - home.
We lunched at Denny's and booted it home to Scarberia, and it was Scarberia - cold wind and slightly damp. A big dump is coming from the west and how much we get depends on the storm track.
Puxatawny Phil may have blown this call.
AirBnB was a success. Our only complaint was the historic mansion was cold-ish. I, mean its so big. The heating was fireplaces and radiators - and I know all about radiator heating. The rads are temper-mental but provide steady heat that is not drying. but you better be close to the rad.
Scones this morning were pumpkin as yesterday but glazed and warm.
Warm scones for brekkies !!!! Teriff.
