to-day's entry : Roast Duck Poutine Pizza
For the southern contingent: Poutine is a dish associated w/ Quebec, the nation next door to Ont but miles away in terms of culture and Dominion-ness.
Poutine is French Canadian french fries ,covered in Fr-Can. cheese curds and smothered in Fr- Can gravy.
This goes on top of a duck meat pizza.
Whoa , nelly. the writer says ' we expected high numbers... fat, calories and salt but....
Here is the breakdown ( daily allowance in brackets )

Fat 109 g ( 90 men, 65 women )

The writer calls this week's column more about ' shock and awe ' than nutritional info. Actaully, I'm in touch w/ shock and awe
I remember recently ( four years ) ,getting worms for fishing at about 1.50 a dozen ( wholesale price ), someone recently, was talking about, 3.25 a dozen. See shock and awe.
On the tube. This morning I turned from ' Hillybilly Hand-fishing ' where they reach in and ' noodle' for catfish w/ their hand or toes and pull out a catfish from under a log.
One guy yanks out a 70 # catfish.
Anywhoo, watched the taped version of " Elementary " ,the new Sherlock Holmes set in modern day N.Y..
Jonny Lee Miller as SH and Lucy Liu as Joan Watson, are the current crime fighting team.
This SH is a little too intense, no that is not right - manic is the word. Although, Jeremy Brett ( the BBC, SH shown on Masterpiece Theatre ) could show signs of mania, this SH is way over the top.
My final analysis, better than most TV and especially ' Hillbilly ' anything.
Weather : Broke cool and dreary w/ not much hope in sight.
