Too early

Re-read the blog entry for yesterday. All I could think of was, blogged too early.
You would be right in thinking, Tuesday was bi-fold door day and coffee.

Well, you couldn't be more wrong.
Subsequent to coffee, the day cleared up. I could have got out fishing but instead I put the boat to sleep for the winter.

First, you fog the engine ( w/ oil ) understand that the engine fogs itself, if you don't follow the instructions as written.
If you read through and then interpret what they meant to say - eezee, peezzee. This year , I forgot what 1/2 throttle means and took 3 tries to finish.

Next, drain the lower gear case, this lubricates all the spinning parts that are below the waterline on the engine.
How long does it take 1 quart of lube oil to drain ? The answer is ten minutes watching it and another 30 minutes while you clean out the boat. Then you wait some more, give up and wipe it dry and start.

The procedure is to pump the oil into the bottom access hole and wait til it comes out the top hole. So, simple. Now I'm sure somewhere I could look up the capacity of the gear case.
Last year, my first try, the guy at the marina gave me 2 qts of oil.
This year, I looked and there was some left in the first bottle. Obviously, not a full qt capacity. But did I fill it properly ? dunno.

So, I'm pumping away, bottle is getting lighter and still pumping. Will I run out, it was tense. Then, 4 tablespoons of oil comes gushing out the top hole, pours down the engine onto the paving stones. duh, yeah, not a qt.

To avoid problems next year I made notes and attached them to the pump. Dummy.

Saw the patio and its thick covering of pine needles and leaves. decided to finish the day by de-debris-ing the patio. Two gigantic loads later, it was time for a brandy and a wash. See, a good day

Sadly, a teen took her life recently. She had posted a YouTube video documenting her trouble and the media take was cyber-bullying.

To-day, on CBC / PRI, an internet blogger and editor commented on the case. What did the media leave out and mis-understand.

The story goes..

1. the teen, using a webcam, posted video of herself exposing her breasts.  A viewer or correspondent saved the clip and tried to coerce the teen into co-operating w/ him or else. Lots of people got to see the breast video

2. the teen was physically intimidated by other youth and subjected to cyber bullying through social media. And this took place over the course of several years. Post and pre breast video.

3. the teen had attempted suicide before but this time post- YouTube plea, took her life.

OK. So what did the media get wrong.

There is a type of person who trolls the internet, social media sites and chat rooms.
The target is teens and others who can be tempted into behaviour that can be embarassing. Or the person takes advantage of an video experiment gone wrong as in this case.
The ' cappers ' short for video capture , do this capturing specifically, for salacious purposes, recruitment / titillation etc.
This teen in question is apparently, one of thousands ( according to the blogger ) who fall prey to ' cappers '.

B/c I'm not familiar with all tech terminology, I thought IP was internet protocol, apparently, it also means          ' internet predator '.

The age we live in - faster, easier communication  Greater and easier sexual predation.

The web was created to open the world to information and contact. Mission accomplished.
