Tech and Me

we are strangers, very strange strangers

However, we get by.
From VoIP problems and solve, we move on to cell phones.
We maintain 2 sets of phones ( pay as you go ). We pay $100 ( nominal here in Canada but obligatory in the U.S. ) w/ a yearly roll over.
The cost is $ 0.22 a minute.

Our U.S. phones are by UMX ( an unknown maufacturer in Korea ? ). The ' Patriot ' is a $ 18 phone bought at the Dollar Store. The Patriot can make calls and take pictures, after that its a crap shoot. Poor visuals in the sun, NO there is no visual in the sun - what was I thinking. Patriot can do the internet if it feels like it.

Here in Canada, both phones are iPhone 4s, good basic phones but woefully out of date. The 4s cost mid $ 400 back when.
To-day, we venture off - Apple and go for a Moto g5.
The g5 is considered entry level. You might guess though in comparison w/ a iPhone, 5 - 6 generations out - not bad.
More memory b/c it can add a card, more powerful camera.
Downside is slow ( for gaming ) speed and sound is mid - level if you demand quality for stored music etc.
We use our phones for talking and texting, thus the g5 is perfectamundo, baby.

Our iPhones become replacements for our U.S. phones.

that is the plan

We shall see said the Zen Master
