Twenty Twenty loses

a month

That was quick. and so goes the unravelling process.

The day failed to cooperate. Cloudy and cool - a truly non inspiring offering

Ah, but we'll need to work with it
a lot !

20200130

Now, you're not fooled
its not a zip code

But what does it mean to others
I'm Googling the title

Wednesday 29 January 2020

As the Month

reaches the end

' another day older and deeper in debt '

Well, maybe not, its sort of lyrics that popped into my head
in the vein of
' I owe my soul to the company store '

20200128

whose zip is this

Cool day however Mr Sun broke through big time.

We muse ' what makes a good day '

I swam 100 lengths, changed our delivery address, walked to lunch and fished
A grand day indeed.
Then pizza for dins

Okay, it rocks

Monday 27 January 2020

Less

heat
and MORE clouds
Still

This day was a gloomy Monday.

The overcast hung around w/ little peeps of sun
< like now - one short burst >

And what a difference - bingo bright and sassy

More

pictures

This is the view and sun below the horizon slightly

Oh, good morning to you

And the day never really improved as it stayed cold to coolish w/ big sun

But experimenting w/ fishing technique has yielded slightly more encouraging results.
My observation is that pinfish have returned to the dock area. My credo is ' everything eats pinfish even pinfish '. When the ' grunts ' return - my name for the little tiddlers that steal bait - other fish follow.
To wit, I caught a ladyfish last night. They jump and run - big ladyfish get the name ' ten tonners ' for their jumping and fighting ability. Mine was a ' tenth tonner '
Ah pinfish, bless their little hearts - aggressive and able to take bigger hooks - thats why I can get 'em
- good runs but too small.

Hello - --- oooooooooo

20200125
A new number for today

Thus, the day reviewed. Mostly, sunny w/ a chill wind.
The sky was big and blue.

I swam for 35 minutes. I did the 7 - 11 run for coffee and doughnuts. Fishing was a bust w/ the wind making casting tough. And very hard to feel the line.

Dinner is french toast and sausage. Our breakfast type dinner is a favourite.

So, does this count as an entry

" Well, whoever it was I'm a fan

#2559 is the post #

The lyrics above from ' Thank you for the Music ' by ABBA

' I often wonder how did it all start
for nothing can capture the heart
like a melody can
...........................  '

The long range prediction from Brett Anderson at Accuweather for the Florida region
I've overlapped the long range from JA 3 and the JA 10 feed. As you can see the update turned warm weather into wet.
In fact this is the 21 st and we are anything but warm
3 days of chill and then a slight warm bump and chill again. Typical roller-coaster ride for The Suncoast of Fla.

JA 17 -23 Warm
JA 22- 28 Warm turned to Wet
JA29 - FE 4 Warm to Wet
FE 6 - 11 Warm to Wet

Sunday Sun

would be fine

How does 1 h and then clouds do ya ?

Overcast is setting in or set in
We will make do

Drizzle for ten minutes
Cloud again

Don't like the weather - wait ten minutes

' I miss the peace of fishing '

from the ' Hunt for Red October '

I am getting out fished mega, this year.
I've caught about 10 and only 30 behind the leader

Oh, well. C'est la guerre

Friday 17 January 2020

Quiet

not quite
the dishwasher is surging away

Ah, to rinse or not rinse dishes before placing in dishwasher
Definitely a rinser here
I've seen the inside filter and what debris collects.
Eek !

Thus, if you rinse what does a dishwasher do
Well, fires a lot of hot water onto the items
Makes noise and seems modern

I performed a walkabout, meaning I strolled the complex down to the pool. Felt the breeze, cool and dry
Ah ! the day begins. A rosy sky and bands of clouds across the East.

We worship Sun and Sacred Steel -  the mantra of the ' Brotherhood of the Sword '. Sort of the Oddfellows, except way more lethal.    The series is called the        ' Horseclans ' or what happens to North America after an Apocalypse of some sort. Mostly, earthquakes and subsiding landmasses. Human civilization splinters and ethno-cultures spring up. Mimicking Greece etc.
And of course, they fight w/ swords and spears.
Robert Adams is the author. Perhaps, 20 books in the series - I, naturally, probably read all of them.

And by natural tendencies - you imagine yourself in that framework.
Except a friend said that his acquaintances that do martial arts, practice sword technique using an 8 lb sledge hammer.
Now, I can pick up a sledge and swing to pound a post etc. BUT a fighting process ?
I don't think so.
Oh well , so go your fantasies

I wanted to be a mountain man - except I sleep w/ an electric blanket during the winter.
In ' Jeremiah Johnson ' aka Robert Redford via Stanley Pollack ( director ) - Johnson wakes up and shakes the snow off his blanket. The horse has froze to death    < guess the horse didn't get the electric blanket >.
See. All my fantasies - gone

Happy B day from both of us
Salut

The day begins w/ promise
Let's keep it going strong

P.S. Donuts were on sale but there was no signage
My receipt shows special offer
It might be b/c of 7-11 perks

Story: I make sure when heading into the U.S. to carry my 7-11 Rewards FOB. Today, the ' reader ' couldn't scan my number. The lady clerk said ' we'll use your ph #
Bingo, up I pop on the screen
Then the clerk says ' 7-11 doesn't even give those out anymore '
Oh ! I didn't know
Oh,well. No harm but so much for diligence

Wednesday 15 January 2020

' Oh, Denise .......

scooby do
Sing it,  Randy and the Rainbows

This song goes back to circa 1963. Perhaps one of the last songs of the ' doo wop ' era. In an interview, Randy surmised the death of President Kennedy and the British Invasion brought the end to ' doo wop '

Now, we ask the question ' do I wax philosophical only when I'm happy or content '.
We need to be careful here b/c I am seldom content.
Or happy ????????

" Oh, Denise "

neat, eh ? the date

What zip code is that ?
a happy place no doubt

Netfix. Binged a bit 6 episodes of ' Hell on Wheels '
in 2 days. Well, actually 30 h. So, one night and an afternoon

Eek. talk about slothful

HoW, the series. Plot : ex Reb seeks revenge. The chase and executions leads Cullen to a railroad work camp. People die and he gets to be foreman of the advance team.
An enigmatic type, he gradually reveals his past. This happens mostly in Ep 6.
Good guy or bad guy - you hope that he is better than he lets on. The scale is tipping goodward at this point.

on Swedish Culture

' you can't slide in here on a shrimp sandwich '

An American TV host asked for uniquely Swedish expressions and got the above

Still used as a rebuff to a perceived high and mighty attitude

Alicia Virkander, babe in residence, was the interviewee.

A tune came to me while swimming < really there isn't much to think about - pool bottom / splashing noise etc >

Strawberries cherries and an angel's kiss in spring
My summer wine is really made from all these things
I walked in town on silver spurs that jingled to
A song that I had only sang to just a few

by Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood

TG for Google etc

BTW, Google is tracking me. Apparently, I turned on ' location history '
Today, G man produced an itinerary of my / our travels
Spooky.

A real wimp-oid view of life

#2546

some brilliant title

However, it has some history

" I have measured out my life in teaspoons "

by T.S. Eliot

the actual quote and explanation

Eliot's poem "The Love Song of J. ... When Prufrock says, in the poem's seventh stanza, "I have measured out my life with coffee spoons," what he means is that his life has always been carefully controlled and predictable—in other words, measured. The image of the coffee spoon is one of middle-class domesticity.

I always had the feeling of failure when I heard those words. The context was a character quoting his wife, an English professor in Venice. The he, is Inspectore Guido Brunetti as written by Donna Leon < American ex-pat, in Venice >

Maybe, giving sparingly to life. Never exploding into the mayhem of existence

Well, whatever its not me
I mean - my life has been in coffee spoons

A Good Day

is when I lie in bed

............ Paul Simon

However, I am up

A big ' Oops ' here
The lyrics to Slip Sliding Away

A bad day's when I lie in bed. And think of things that might have been

The words of Sarah McLachan in ' Angel '

spend all your time waiting
For that second chance
For a break that would make it okay
There's always some reason
To feel not good enough
And it's hard at the end of the day

Better

Sunday 5 January 2020

' Yes, Come Sunday .....

It'll be alright
I'll be holding you tight

Welcome to my day

Johnny Dusendorf aka Denver
