the bassboat decided not to run. Worrisome b/c there was no sound.

progress. is such a tricky concept right now. M .. is doing quite well.Today, e.g. her heart seems to check out fine.
on the near horizon is a evaluation endoscopy and a respirologist consult
M ... is much more mobile than 2 months ago and confidant,

over the years [ some 21 and counting ] I've been asked about retirement.
I relate the problems that I had in ' accepting ' retirement. or more correctly, adjusting to the retired life
in therapy, much of that angst was centred around father. ....
to this day, I have trouble w/ ' not doing ' ...... anything.

M . figured this out way before me. she was ' onto ' my problem from the get go
I mention it in this post, b/c that was my morning. I unloaded the dishwasher, played on the Chromebook and folded some laundry and ..... there it was

🐟 M .. has been anxious that I get to fish. Thus, Sunday, we drove up and found a warm to very warm cottage during the night
I took the boat out twice [ late evening and morning ]. I caught fish mostly, sunfish and rockbass. I purposefully, started w/ smaller jigs and the little fishes cooperated. After a bit, I switched to bigger baits
A bass and pike came to my rescue.

Apparently you can use it, once for cucumbers and twice for things like carrots. The idea is that you don't want too much water diluting down the vinegar and the spices and the salt. Oh my goodness. Reusing pickle brine

You see, you are supposed to beenthralled w/ the tablet features. Guess, I'm not
Tomorrow. I will try tablet mode for practice. Promise.
However, in the meantime. I folded the Duet in two and I'm just typing on the spare keyboard

At the Q' and the fishing was good. Finally the bass were hitting and we were there. Can you believe that - little windy little choppy on the water but we got lucky the fish were there and so were we. Isn't that great? I feel satisfied
And the boat ran great A...' s. new cradle for the boat was a dream - steady and balanced. All those words Very very good

I spent the mroning exercising and re - inventing the wheel
that is my expression for rag picking my storage [ accumulated dross ] creating a solution to a problem
in this case, routing the water away from the house on the SouthWest.
last big storm water pooled there.
I strung together some runoff plastic pipe and that worked but killed the grass below. Next, last week was plastic rollout tubing but the slope made a bulge part way and the water stayed there in the plastic tube
an aluminum downpipe held its shape and angle but the acutal downpipe is sqaure and the horizontal downpipe [ on the ground is rectangular ].
I previusly needed a connector for the rectangular downpipe and had an adapter but needed a way to bridge the square downpipe to the adapter.
solution was a yogurt container w/ the bottom cutout. Plus a plastic bag to seal the joint.
an ugly baby ..... but it worked
napping .... I figured out a better way [ in my mind ]

couldn't believe the chill last night [ not fall but cold feeling ]

on the QMH front. A .. and an assistant [ not me ] spent the weekend improving the boat cradle on the trolley.
After purchasing the Q', I broke the winch in the boat house.
that winch was meant for a 600 # aluminum outboard and the 1800 + lbs of the bassboat was too much
I moved the outside winch [ for a cabin cruiser ] inside.
approx. 2 yr later the motor on that winch gave out. I got it repaired
next as I looked at the cradle system of two inverted arches front and back, I saw the wood had deteriorated. M .. and I replaced the wood arms. Sorry, M .. and I together. She is very proud of that effort
Fast forward to this past weekend. A .. always thinking and doing, decided that the cradle should be runner rails. So, under the boat are plank supports the length of the keel.
much sturdier and spreading the weight of the boat along a 16 ft length

the problem. lately, the blog has fallen off in volume. Some of you, may be grateful, some might not have noticed
yet rather important as a task and outlet for some part of me
in the ' boro we got a downpour for 20 minutes, starting around 5:45 AM.
Yes, I was awake. But the rumbling skies likely would wake anyone. The rain was substantial.
Grass got watered for sure
the air cooled remarkably however, the H / H factor will return and hang around for a few days.
* on the computer front or as you now know, the Chromebook front because there's nothing left in this house but Chromebooks
what I've discovered is that the original Chromebook laptop that I bought, it was a Dell 5190, has run out of the regular security and system updates. What that means is that although there will be security, part of the trade-off is that many of the apps that I use and sort of come to depend on will not be supported
so I've done what I knew had to be done, a long time ago when I bought the Third of the Chromebooks. I am using what is called, the " Duet " which means that the device is both a Chromebook laptop and also
a Chromebook tablet.
if you decide to use the Chromebook tablet then what happens is you don't have a keyboard I'm one of those people that needs a keyboard and I need a mouse
okay so if I decide not to use the keyboard then I type on the tablet which is very awkward or I dictate which is what I'm doing now
one other solution is to add a separate external keyboard. *

to review. from the first * to the second *, the text was dictated and then edited by voice dictation or manually on the tablet screen keyboard
at this moment, I'm typing on a Bluetooth keyboard w/ the Duet keyboard folded under.
there may be problems that this 'fold under ' creates but I'm happily typing away
I knew that the 5190 would lose updates around Jun 2024 however the Chromebook brain trust offered an extension of security updates w/ the trade off involving many apps.
I purposefully bought the Duet to replace the Dell 5190 [ down the road ]
This means that I can blog on the 5190 but for utility, this Duet is a better option.
The apps that I lost were for taking notes and editing.
Now, that third Chromebook. IF the 5190 could not be used for lack of updates then I would need the Duet in our study but M .. needs a handy device in the living room [ where she does all her computer work ]
So, we have three Chromebooks

my morning routine seems to be, watering my grass strip [ East side of the driveway ]
