still, a great recovery day
highlight of the day - exercise [ 600 Cal and near 50 minutes ]
recommendations are seniors 130 min of moderate exercise per week
and large muscle usage to perk up blood flow - burns more calories too !
I decided that this post needs to end w/ a positive or joyful item
" accentuate the positive

Sorry ! That will have to do

Introducing an old topic : YouTube
last week my sunroof would not automatically close. The window slides near to closure THEN re - opens.
I discovered that using a thin strip to hold the closing gate down [ it seems to stay up or engaged ] the window closes.
So, practically, ' don't open the sunroof ', is the best policy
Thus, today, I searched YouTube for ' Ridgeline Sunroof ' and saw 3 videos
A work around for Honda ' non closing sunroofs '
Again, I am not alone. If I've got a problem - many others as well. The video had 37 replies saying, Thnx, it worked etc.
๐ก this is the 23 rd July
didn't I just finish noting the end of June ????
well, time moved on, moves on

but
yesterday, I realized that it is one long movie
l...ooo...o.... ng However, I was able to nap during the middle part
wood chunks, chips and mulch - littered the shelves and floor of the boathouse PLUS the roofers took away 2 truckloads

....... I need a day off to recover from my day off [ out fishing ]
Whine. Whine. The long dock next to the boat launch [ read, beside the trolley ] is a removable structure. Over the years, tie up cleats have come and gone [ mostly gone ].
Thus, you go to tie the bassboat up even temporarily and mooring lines are across the dock or tied to a tree [ yes, a tree ].
Therefore, despite the sun [ and wind ] I said ' do something '. I screw in a new cleat. There is a sound. Then it dawns. The screw is going through the cleat screw hole. Choice is, find a washer or go back up the hill to check the tool room. Nope, not the hill !!!
ten minutes later, I've got makeshift washers in my hand.
And yes. there are new cleats and tie ups for the bassboat.
THEN, I'm sweating [ already had a shower ] but said every time that I bring the boat in, I need to avoid bopping the dock b/c the near corner has an aluminum corner w/ a sharp edge. Thus, after ten years, I can bring the boat in a little more carefree.
I was watching a video on docking. First rule. " never come in to dock, faster than you're willing to hit. "
thats what I do [ always thought that I was too chicken and inexperienced ]. Still that corner is a hazard.
Now, the corner is covered w/ a bumper.

okay !! mayhaps, I didn't invent stories
this is the way that it should be
In Spring I ordered a' Y ' brass fitting from Lee Valley Tools. The connector leaks. I tried the thing twice and leaks. Problem. The closest store now is 16 miles away.
I needed the hwy 401, clogged in several places and the hwy 400, really clogged in places.
Well, thats travel in T.O.in summer ' we're fixing the roads ' epidemic.
Lee Valley were polite and swapped out, no questions. BTW, Bass Pro Shoppes is out that way. I went in but wasn't in the mood to spend $ 12 on more plastic bait.
Like I couldn't stock the neighbourhood w/ fishing crap
Alright. Review. The ceiling fan - light. The fan on low is beaut. Quiet and moves air
The light is adjustable white, bluey white and yellowy. White is glary and yellow is depressing
I would rate it adequate, but for the money a piece of valuable utility. The fixture is not ugly but way better than a light bulb hanging down [ thats what it replaced ]
Good buy.
⽛ today, I wanted the ' emoji ' or symbol for FAN
Approx. 3 weeks ago, I ordered a ' knock off ' ceiling fan - light.
The ' real ' fan - light was a ' You Saw It on TV ', Bell & Howell model. The BH got fine reviews, however, the price would run from $ 30 on sale to 60. This one was $ 46 all in
On Amazon, I found a slightly cheaper version of BH. The delivery was 2 weeks out. TODAY !!!!!! it came
Supposedly, EZ to mount. Screw in and balance.
Yes !!!!!
I knew that the makeshift ceiling light - composed of a lantern [ really ] that was meant for outdoors [ ? ] and a socket extension arranged to peek through the grate. Intuitively, I felt that some more fiddling was in the offing, for sure.
[ The old ceiling fan got so noisy and broken, I took it down. ]
Stepped up on the bed, unscrewed the LED, tipped the socket extension down [ more ] and Bingo !!!! screwed in the new ceiling fan - light [ LED ].
NO. no light - no movement. Aha, use the remote. Yes, a push button control. NO. Aha, pull out the plastic battery guard.
YES. air and light. Perfectamundo
To be fair, I am so glad that the bugger works - I might have lost perspective on how well the thing works. Time will tell and M .. hasn't seen the fixture, yet.
M.. likes the ceiling fan. Clearly, the fan- light has emphasized the fact that our bed is not centred b/c the light is dead centre and the bed is 3 ft skewed to the right. I 'm thinking that at one time we needed the space on the right.
So, the fan works and the LED light works. On low, the fan is a gentle hum. On ' high ' the fan evokes thoughts of the space shuttle accelerating.
Conclusion. For $ 46, its a chop.
This evening, re - union w/ former students - now, friends - the class of 76 at Leacock C.I. Such a warm, convivial time

from google search: SUCCESS
During my four-year journey at Initiative, I've learned that the key to success can be summarized in a single word: Positivity. Progression is key to success, so change your exercise routine regularly and increase the challenge every three-six weeks.
I typed in ' success ' and among the ' hits ' was this statement.
it doesn't need to mean anything.
however, I can get a pat on the back b/c I've been altering my workout almost daily. Of course, I'm bound to repeat or get in a cycle.
I watch a YouTube channel about life in Svalbard, up on the Arctic Circle. Once a mining and fishing [ hunting ? ] concern. I believe Longyearben survives on tourism today.
The host is Cecilia who has become quite adept at producing interesting clips of Svalbard life. Cecilia is Swedish by birth living on an island governed by Norway.
She has travelled and I dare say picked up English quite readily. Her accent is European [ Nordic ] but her English is colloquial and interesting.
Speaking of interesting. A character on StarTrek ' Strange New Worlds ' has caught my attention. The character is ' Erica Ortegas '. She is a outstanding pilot and kinda spunky.
Her speech is filled w/ verbal gems such as ' no presh ' or abso - frigging - lutely '. I assume ' no presh ' is no pressure
Also. I discovered ' East Harbour Heroes ' or life in St Johns Newfoundland based on the sea. Each segment is a mix of fishing, shipping, air / sea rescue and generally what people do for a living in St Johns and area.
I mention Cecilia b/c one of her latest videos concerned exercise. Really, no fair b/c she is younger. She still does deep knee bends and lunges [ w/ weights ]
P.S. I likely mentioned ' using a rolling pin ' on my quads. Yes, Its still working for pain control. This pain relief method is perplexing b/c this situation means that I could have established a pain control or mitigation protocol - long ago.
๐ฎ rather than blurt out a tension fraught anecdote
We were in Emergency yesterday, from 9 AM to 2 PM
M.. had some abdominal discomfort and this culminated the week of similar though lesser pain.
Bloodwork, ultrasound, coffee and water [ oh, those last 2 were for me ]. M.. got her drink through an IV.
Relatively, inconclusive but we needed to see a doctor for sure. AND if the family doctor was the one then bloodtests would have been in a separate place.
Advice from Doc Borenstein ' eat bland food, no spicy or alcohol ' didn't go down a treat w/ M. [boring ! ]
Saturday, in ER, started quiet [ but we didn't know that ] and as we left, we saw standing room only.
Apparently, the U.S. is sending Hershey almond clusters to the Ukraine. Good luck w/ that, b/c not everyone likes nuts.
Our wildfire season is still in full bloom. In B.C. the experts say that lightning is a major origin of wildfires there.

Let's dance in style, let's dance for a while
Heaven can wait we're only watching the skies
Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst
Are you gonna drop the bomb or not
Let us die young or let us live forever
We don't have the power, but we never say never
Sitting in a sand-pit, life is a short trip
The music's for the sad men.
Can you imagine when this race is run
Turn our golden faces into the sun
Praising our leaders, we're getting in tune
The music's played by the mad men
Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever and ever.
Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever young
Some are like water, some are like the heat
Some are a melody, some are the beat
Sooner or later they all be gone
Why don't they stay young?
It's so hard to get old without a cause
I don't want to perish like a fading horse
Youth is like diamonds in the sun
and diamonds are forever
So many adventures couldn't happen today
So many songs that we forgot to play
So many dreams swinging out of the blue
We let them come true
Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever and ever.
Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever and ever.
Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever....
