• 12,000 profiles seem to be about women who are active on the site. Most of female profiles appear to have been abandoned very soon after they were created.
• Over 9,000 accounts with female profiles had ashleymadison.com email address, while just 1,000 had male profiles or no gender specified.
• 68,709 female profiles had an IP address that suggests they were created on one of Ashley Madison's own computers, compared to12,069 male or no-gender-specified accounts.
• 1,492 women had checked the messages in their Ashley Madison accounts. Two-thirds of the men had done so (20.3 million).
• 2,409 women had engaged in chat on Ashley Madison, compared to 11 million men, or about one-third of the men.
• 9,700 women replied to a message from an Ashley Madison member, while nearly six million men had done so.

Our Sunday , dinner was a carvery. Thats what is advertised in the UK on Sunday. Roast beef and all the trimmings. We did oven roast potatoes , brocc , Yorkshire pudding and gravy. All was excellent. BTW , that was the royal we , my part was to season the meat and carve.

A long list of emails is in my Gmail inbox , all from UPS. To - morrow I should be able to delete those emails when / if the vinyl roll arrives ( by days end , is how they put it )
I went back and found that this roll weighs 135 lb. This is not a one person job for me. 
Thank goodness , the boyz are coming fishing THUR. Help. Young , strong and owe me a favour or 2.

The CBC is a prime source of fodder for this blog b/c we listen to it a fair bit in the car. The show that we catch a lot is ' The Age of Persuasion ' by Terry O'Reilly. 

this week's storyline - things that I've read but never made it to a program. Yes , Febreeze
P&G , come up w/ this de - scenter. The marketing division farms it out to farmers , outdoor workers etc.
The feedback , fabulous. One forest Warden ( female ) tearfully thanked the rep. Apparently , getting skunked made her clothes , well , uncleanable. And offensive. No love life !
She used Febreeze and , NO , she isn't married but guys hung around for more than a week.
But , pet lovers reported , less than enthusiastic response. The marketers reported conditions that made their eyes watered but the owners didn't notice. the light came on , the owners were desensitized to the odour. Of course , they wouldn't notice ' no smell '.
The fix : add a flower scent to the formula. Sales tripled and then tripled again.

Fascinating anecdote , but a better anecdote was the lead in to this Febreeze drama. O'Reilly reads books constantly to research for his show. The master of electronic media and broadcasting , reads.
Unlike your , humble blogger who steals ideas off the internet , O ' Reilly steals from books.

Nope. Email arrives moments later , delivery 8/28 - really.

BTW - there is a charge for changing dates ( $2 , don't panic )

Want a boost ? I'm trying a recommendation from Microsoft helper - ' Ready Boost ' , a process where you use a flashdrive or thumb drive plugged in to the ( baby ) laptop. Approx 4 Gb of storage is sectioned off to the flashdrive. This attempt is #2 the first flashdrive will not work. Thus , I stuck a second stick and will see how this 2 nd one goes. 
OK , my evaluation , is , the baby laptop is a little quicker
The real test , is a full scan using McAfee.
The last monthly scan took approx 7 hr

I can drive from T.O. to Salamanca and back in that time

Thus , if you get a silver coin for Xmas - well , you understand , right
Actually , the coins do make great gifts. Its not often that you give a gift that doesn't decrease in value , the moment that its bought
And these have the potential to increase in value , small chance but their value will never drop below $ 20 b/c they are legal tender.
In the UK , we gave 4 coins to M's family. Presentation box or folder w/ each. Themed for soccer , PanAm games etc.

No Turning Back: City begins demolition of the Pier

Demolition will take two months after many years of planning and delay.

The digital pre - news comes every morning

We visit the Tampa area incl St Petersburg , St Pete Bch and Pinellas County. There is some interest in the local news bytes for us.

The weather is indeterminate. Warm, check  Humid , check

terrible , uncheck.

Rain , check ( !!! get it ? )  The chance for showers is 40 - 60 % depending who is forecasting

The Pier is a extension out into the Intracoastal Waterway ( ? geog ). The Pier offered a scenic outlook , fishing , shopping etc. Meant to be a tourist attraction and focal point , somehow it lost its way. Financially , always a problem , many schemes were attempted to revitalize the Pier.

The whole area was designated and became a shopping , dining area. The streets are named 1st , 2nd etc and offer some suitable options. As well , the Pier's partner in failure ( for now , 'revitalize !  ) in the area was the Baywalk Complex.

Anchored by a movie venue and dining and shopping destinations , Baywalk is a so - so operation both financially and attendance wise.

Baywalk was plagued by negative press revolving around some violence that occurred. Anchor stores pulling out etc

We have been to both , and our opinion , is that they are acceptable , interesting at the rate of once or twice in 3 yrs.

See the problem ?  We would never consider more trips than that.

This 2015 year is my Mothers 11 th  yr in the nursing home.

She was assessed for a wheel chair last month. I didn't want the wheelchair but preferred a walker. You may recall , Mom went too fast in the walker and it was deemed dangerous

Well, in discussing the evaluation , I let it be known the if push came to shove , I would rent a walker just to see if Mom would choose one over the other,

The assessment lady , ordered both - she's not paying and the gov't kicks in 70 %

To -day , I met the assessor lady.... and I was wrong , sorry lady , she is not dumb

She understood and explained the bill that I got .. made sure the wheelchair was a good fit etc

Every now and then , I make a good move
Every now and then , is the operative here

Oh ,and OpOsm the get fit plan is still chugging along.
On the Wii Fit BMI board - I'm always looking for objective evaluation ( means a number )...... M wanted to start Wii again , so I fiddled w/ some stuff
But I took the BMI Test , I scored normal , on the upper edge but satisfactory BMI ( Body Mass Index )
Wii knows that I've lost weight , according to Wii its 7.5 Kg

BTW , I'm 166 lb on the bathroom scale
At my balloon weight , the impetus for starting Op Osm , I was 190

To -day is rug day. We 'll take the area rug in the living room to the cleaners. I hang the rug 2 - 3 times a year to air. We live on this rug and its only fitting to clean the sucker in the same way

Otherwise we are hiding from the heat

We did take the rug to the special rug cleaner guy
Prior to going , I printed a coupon for $5 OFF plus whatever other discounts that you'd get. Big deal ! Right 
Well , if you deliver the rug ( we didn't know any other way  ) they give a discount of 25 % , and if senior age that b/comes 30 % and the coupon made it 35 % off.
Tax and all , 47 dollars
1 week , and we go get it
And dirty it up all over
Or we could cover it in plastic and put it on the floor

This morning , I took a school friend , meaning my age , to Dim Sum , Chinese breakfast w/ tea. The meal was excellent but better the Caucasian friend was impressed w/ the food and service
The wait was 40 minutes b/c of the Sunday thing but we gabbed and caught up. The friend has been for D & S before but he said this place ' Very Fair ' was good and gooder

Sports : the T.O. bluejays are 1/2 game out of first place and still are a wild card team
The ' Arsenal ' of Eng Premier League won to -day. They are my team. important to note !    I have seen them play as opposed to those ' who only stand and wait ' ( a quote from Milton , on His Blindness )

Our federal election
This run of campaigning will last for 12 weeks. This is an extra long campaign b/c of the summer break for gov't. The candidates for Prime Minister , the party leaders will spend upwards of ten thousand dollars as they take public transit from venue to venue crossing the country.
Kidding ! Each Federal leader will spend 40 to 50 million on his own and the party campaign

Weather : the rain came w/ violent thunderstrikes out over the lake.
I was driving south to the city after the card game up north. The sky lit up , like strobe lights flashing for a good 40 minutes.
We will get warm and sultry , HH for sure , building over the next 3 days. long range , looking out a week or so ,  shows seasonal temperatures. Humidity ? maybe , but the temperatures stay down

The TBT , daily starter was a ' no - goer ' , Jeb Bush , and poor schools in Pinellas County were the highlights. Both , old news.

the Donald must have put a cork in it b/c he hasn't made the news in at least a day.

Election Central

We are in the midst of a federal election. for our southern friends , a summary.
In Canada , our government is primarily an elected House of Commons. As of this year , elections are mandated at every 4 years.
When we vote , we are choosing a candidate of 1 of 5 parties.
4 parties are national in scope , conservative ( Republican ) , Liberal ( Democrats ) , NDP ( social party ) and the Green Party ( environmental issues ). Then there is a separatist party called the Bloc Quebecois who espouse the secession of Quebec from Federation.

The party that elects the most candidates forms the government or tries. The leader of the party in government is Prime Minister by default. Thus , we vote for a member of parliament , send a party to govern and get a PM.

My observation , if the candidate talks about it , chances are - that item has little to do w/ gov't  , unless you count publicity

This present party Conservative has concentrated power out of the Prime Minister's Office , muzzled gov't scientists and reduced spending on inspection of private corporations - meat packing etc
, mostly involving safety and supply. 
Ha , the Conservatives never mention this and neither do the opposition folks
Why .... b/c its important and affects  all Canadians , all the time

Weather , the worm turned............. thunderstorms and humidity have arrived. unsettled is the word ... til it gets real hot and sticky

The price was $ 67   all in , delivered etc. Regular 120 , on sale for 60 , then tax etc

 The story of the rash. No , thats not correct , I have a seasonal sensitivity that behaves like an allergy.

Every JUL since 2013 , seemingly if I touch or contact a plant

a series of little bumps begins on my right arm. The bumps move up the arm , elbow etc then jump to my torso and who knows after that. The bumps if left , turn translucent and are filled w/ liquid ( I think , no bubble has burst , yet )

To pre - think this problem , I asked my doc for beta derm cream , in advance. Doc came through w/ a family sized jar , which co incidentally costs $ 20 more than the pill vial size and holds 10 x more cream.

TG , ten days ago , little bumps started. On w/ the cream. And Wal - dryl ( generic Benadryl from Wahlgreens ) purchased in Las Vegas ) , in 5 hr cycles.

Unfortunately , this year , I didn't touch a plant to best of my knowledge. Who knows , I'm outside all the time , the 'bee etc.

I was defoliating the dogwoods , b/c they grow like an army starting to conquer , 3 days ago AND my arm started to itch again.

Yepper , little bumps. I mention this b/c I put on the cream right now AND Wal - dryl too !!

The model also seems to be hinting at an increased potential for a tropical system or two forming off the East Coast of the U.S. and tracking northeast. Time will tell on that.

However , the species is not given much street cred as food.

I've helped someone net mullet , yet I'm not sure of the fate of those fish, I assumed that they were smoked and eaten.

We have a winter subscription w/ the paper while in Fla. Recently ,the TBT has started allowing unlimited viewing of the on line version. To get you hooked so to speak ( mullet , humour )  they've been sending the daily starter to whet your appetite for this mode.

But 94 ways to take advantage of Windows 7 features. Unfortunately , only 4 really helped me.
I decided to Google Windows 7 b/c I realized that I never really got a manual for Win 7. Sort of ' do and see what happens ' format was in play.
Out of the 4 pages - I created a ' System Recovery ' disk. How will I ever use it - dunno.but its there and labelled. If my computer fails perhaps I can re - boot using the SR disk.
I know how to call up the window that selects ' projector ' for using slides and presentations.
I can call up the ' gadgets ' window that accesses , puzzle ,clock , CPU function , calendar ( which shows the date in colour ) etc.

But overall , it leaves you feeling as though you've done something
and definitely reinforces the adage that ' ignorance is bliss '.

I deviated from the avowed aim of finding out ' should you seal your driveway '. I should explain that I went to Canadian Tire ' this is PEP Boys on steroids b/c CT is like a grocery store for house chores. I purchased acrylic sealer b/c it was advertised as covering more per bucket. Typical me !  That night , in a dream , I pictured painting the acrylic on the sloped driveway and sliding all winter.
Early , next morning , I slipped into the Tire and returned the acrylic.
On the internet search , lo and behold , a reviewer for acrylic reported sliding on his driveway ( after adding sand to the acrylic for traction )  thats how I got to Windows 7. We slide anyway in winter w/ the angle of the driveway.

In the Sci Tech area of CBC on line : Airbus to Achieve Mach 4.5 - this means that theoretically , the Airbus can go NY to London in an hour. If you're going anywhere else you're out of luck.

Not really  , but Jon Stewart signed off on his stint as host of the      ' Daily Show ' .
M taped the finale for JS and I didn't quite get all the humour. I didn't watch regularly and there was too much intrinsic stuff.
Comedy Central really got on the map w/ that show.

Weather : unbelievably fine. rain is due in 2 - 3 days but the temperature has been season and relatively dry.

Fishing is fairly unproductive..... but I'm not getting paid by the pound or inch , thus anything is better than nothing. Besides , out there on the water , the rest of the world kinda goes away. So , bonus.

On CBC , the morning show topic was aging. Apparently , you're supposed to keep praising yourself for what you can still do - walk , talk etc , I guess. The power of positive denial or somesuch. You're whole outlook on life will be better. Can you tell , I'm a bit of a doubter

Rash moves ..................

................. yepper , it did.
The left arm , now is ' rashy '. Thus , both arms ( lower left and left elbow plus the lower right arm ) and the torso are involved.
Also , I'm taking Benadryl , as an overall de-sensitizer for allergy
relief. M  read somewhere that people are suffering seasonal allergy symptoms. Maybe , there is a reason that I blossom in July and that it has nothing to do w/ plants , meaning touching plants.
Except why the initial bumps on wrist.

Somebody Wrote ......

..... the cat came back.
No , but my rash did. This rash starts on lower right arm , the wrist area and then starts working up the arm. The little bumps show up next on the rib area. So far , the bumps are on the right side only. This episode is the third year in a row.
For some reason July  seems to be the trigger. This year its a little late  but it still is JL.
To help in my seasonal battle , the Doc prescribed a jug of BetaDerm cream , back in late May. This cream is steroidal. Side effects include thinning skin , whitening or bleaching of the skin , cracking or splitting and pregnancy. Oops ! lied about that last one
As well , I'm taking Benadryl during the day.
The Doc has diagnosed a sensitivity not an allergy as such
Doesn't matter , the rash keeps coming back , no matter what its called.

Weather , getting back to seasonal w/ showers due , sometime for the next 2 - 3 days
