A good plus, is that if drained - I could close up the lower gear case. Not the best - but at least the lower gear case would have nothing in it to freeze.
There is strong consensus that there will be little in the way of widespread, sustained cold air across North America the rest of this month. Much of this is due to the fact that we will see a strong Pacific influence of air across North America, which will keep most areas fairly mild. This will also deliver several storms to the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia, which should signal the demise of the fire season in those areas if it hasn't already.
