The franchise ushered in a new age in cinema viewing. Geo Lucas' , Industrial Light and Magic birthed a technological revolution in film making.
For that reason alone SW the genre and it is , is worth mentioning.
The SW series , gave rise to other multi episode film families.
And for the producing companies , relying on name branding is far safer than striking out anew.
There tends to be fall off in gross revenues but at least there will be revenues - guaranteed.
This version of SW , Force Awakens , is a block buster , in it s own right
In a landscape lacking originality , thank you Hollywood , for that
