Look at the Numbers

readers are aware , by now , that often raw data appears on this site.
Raw - in this sense means that I'm quoting from the newspapers or repeating items that I heard over the ' buds ' during the night.

However , I do sometimes delve a little deeper into the article.
Success rate of Alcoholics anonymous , was reported at 10 %.    Oops ! This item was in the TorStar.
Aren't AA people , generally , successful , maybe , not on the first go round but eventually.
The article points out that the AA normally ,won't include drop-outs in their data.

The 10 % is raw numbers , drop outs and all. Crap on a Cracker.

By the Numbers Pt II ( TorStar )

Shanghai received a shout out from the blog , a while ago  - ' #1 , most expensive city
Back in the BTN section  - this time for a 20 % increase in population to 5.3 million in 10 years from 2004 to 2014
The 1996 projection had a population of  4 million by 2030. Oops , they got that one wrong.
On the world competitiveness survey , Singapore dropped form # 1 to #5.
Spending will be 46 billion dollars for subway infrastructure that is due for completion by 2031.

S.W.A.T. in America.
                                       S.W.A.T. deployed
1980                                  3 000 times
2013                                50 000 times

34 people arrested by Fla. S.W.A.T. for " barbering w/out a licence "

35 billion allotted for heavy weaponry by Homeland Security , from 2002 - 2011.

Weather : dreary , near FP but way lots better than a month ago.

Oh , guys at QMH are predicting a bumper mosquito year. Yipee , not.
I see the doc to-morrow re: shooting pains in the lower back and vicinity. We're guessing bubonic plague or scurvy. Joking !!!! On a TV commercial for tax services , tax pain is said to masquerade as those 2 diseases.
