We will mosey 1 h and 10 minutes down the road. And inhabit the Waddell Hotel. A boutique- y place w/ a Italian restaurant on the ground floor. There is a in - house bar [ yeah !]
The advantage : we go East not West. Thus, avoiding the QEW and travelling the wrong way at rush hour [ truth be told, there might not be a ' non rush ' hour ].
I Figure why suffer on a vacation.
In our area and slightly beyond there is a curse name ' Salem Rd '.
The Hwy 401 [ think I - series in the U.S. ] narrows by a lane at Salem. The traffic responds by slowing down and halting [ mostly ]. Sadly, going East at 11:30 AM to 2 PM, Salem starts to slow. And of course, come 3 - 6 agony occurs, daily. Reverse the process Westbound in the morning.
Now, the question - if the Hwy narrows Eastbound but expands Westbound on 401 - how does the traffic bottleneck. Good one !
It does. Nightly. In fact, my ideal leaving time from the Q' is 6 - 6:30 P. By then, westbound traffic has cleared Salem.
You got it. Going against the flow of outbound traffic to T.O. at evening, you wait til 7 or 7:30 for the mess to clear Salem.
Weather is H / H and followed by thunderstorms in a day or so.

However, no pollinators have arrived [ that we see ]. Of course, it could be a ' too ' small patch. On the upside, the wildflowers have done the job of filling the window area and adding colour.
