Well, the house is de - Christmas ed. Tiny jobs remain. Such as, where to put all the stuff. My solution : since we didn't use all the decorations, don't put them back in the downstairs cupboard. Brilliant. I take the unused boxed Xmas decorations to the garage and clear a space up top. The box that I moved - yepper, Xmas decorations et al.
How can one man be brilliant twice - unheard of.
As well, our artificial tree came pre lit. Some chains have ceased to function. We added stringer lights where the tree was unlit. OK. Taking down the tree, I unstrung the spare lights. And unstrung the spare lights - and said ' oh, crap. Are these the original lights pre - wired ?.
Thus, this afternoon. Sort out the conundrum of the origin of the lights.
This event should be videotaped for ' bloopers of the season '. Friends w/ the same problem, stripped the pre - existing lights and added their own to their pre - lit tree.

Follow up details. The tree lights. Yes, I had started to remove the permanent lights. Approx 6 or so were the original. Then the separate stringer that we added was evident and I stored in another marked container. Tagged a note to the pre - lit stringer for next year.
